Berkshire Hathaway recently agreed to acquire homebuilder Taylor Morrison in a deal valued at about $8.5 billion, including debt. At the same time, major Japanese construction companies have been buying U.S. homebuilders across the country.

Why would big investors pour money into homebuilding when mortgage rates are still high and the housing market supposedly looks “slow”?

Because they are betting on one thing:

America still does not have enough homes.

That is exactly what we are seeing here in Connecticut. Inventory remains tight, Hartford has been one of the most competitive markets in the country, and buyers are still fighting for quality homes.
