Want my unpopular real estate opinion?
Connecticut does not just have an affordability problem.
It has a housing shortage problem.
The former FHA Commissioner recently said the takeaway from looking at housing at the highest level was simple:
America needs more housing.
Not more headlines. Not more noise. More homes.
Because when too many buyers are chasing too few properties, prices go up.
And here in Connecticut, we see that every day.
The conversation should not only be about making housing cheaper. It should also be about creating enough housing so ownership becomes attainable again.
More supply means more options, less pressure, and a better chance for buyers to actually compete.
